What Can I Expect During My First Visit?

You can expect to complete a full history questionnaire and "new patient" application for care. You will then consult with the doctor. This consultation is your opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations, and to ask any questions you may have pertaining to the matter. It is also for the Chiropractor to express his role in your health care and discuss your health prognosis. A physical exam will be performed which may include orthopedic testing, range of motion assessment, muscle testing, and a specific Chiropractic evaluation. In some cases x-rays may be necessary to determine the exact location of vertebral subluxations. X-rays are done at our office. Before you leave and are checked out, you will be scheduled for your follow up visit or your report of findings. Your Chiropractor will go over the results of the exam and x-rays with you on your second visit or report of findings. This will allow the doctor sufficient time to process and analyze your exam and X-ray findings. If the doctor determines that he can help you and accepts you for chiropractic care, your care plan and fees will then be discussed and then you will receive your first adjustment with consent to care. Adjustments shouldn't be painful, although you may feel some discomfort until the pressure in the joint is relieved. You may feel no difference at all after your first adjustment or you may feel a sense of well being and healing immediately or hours later. 

Depending on your condition, your Chiropractor may schedule a series of visits for care.
